Industry standards the CFR requires

The Coast Guard's rules make parts of NFPA, ABYC, ASTM, UL, SAE and other industry standards mandatory by incorporating them by reference. Each page here shows the edition the CFR requires, the sections that require it, and where to read it, free where the publisher allows.

The CFR requires the edition it names, which may not be the newest. To enforce any other edition, the agency must publish the change in the Federal Register.
